Since 2018, the Society for Students with a Disability (SSD) has established a $5000 bursary fund through the Center for Accessible Learning each semester. This bursary helps ensure access to LAP Tutor, Learning Strategist, and Full-Serve Note Taking services for students who do not qualify for funding through the Canada Student Grant program.
To be eligible for the SSD Bursary, you must:
- Be a UVic student who identifies as having a disability
- Be registered in credit-bearing UVic courses.
- Not qualify for Canada Student Grant for Services and Equipment for Students with Permanent Disabilities in the semester you are applying for, herein called the “semester of application”.
- Use SSD Bursary funding for LAP services (Tutor/Learning Strategist and/or Full-Serve Notetaking) in the semester of application.
To inquire about applications, please email the Learning Assistance Program at learning@uvic.ca.
If you have any questions about the SSD-CAL Bursary, please contact the Center for Accessible Learning at learning@uvic.ca or 250-472-5494
