Email Motion – 2023/04/05: 01

WHEREAS the SSD strives to support our community members through the stress of final exams and end-of-semester due dates; therefore,

BIRT that the SSD allocates up to $1100 for care packages to be mailed to Care Workshop participants in April 2023.

WHEREAS the SSD approved a total budget of $9,500 for the Spring 2023 semester for the Food Security Program on 17th January 2023; and,

WHEREAS the SSD approved an increased total budget of $13,000 on 28th February 2023; and,

WHEREAS the demand for our Spring 2023 Food Security Program has exceeded the $13,000 budget; therefore,

BIRT the SSD approves an increased total budget of $15,000 for the Spring 2023 Food Security Program in order to support more students.

MOTION 2023/05/12: 01 – Hannah/Zack

WHEREAS the SSD strives to support disabled students on campus by providing respite and access to light refreshments and easy meals; and,

WHEREAS the SSD purchases a variety of snacks, and easy meals for on campus consumption and takeaway for at home for students’ open access; therefore,

BIRT the SSD approves $750 for the Summer 2023 semester for the purchase and delivery of space snacks and simple convenient meals.

WHEREAS the SSD creates an annual budget each year to be approved by council and subsequently the Advocacy Relations Committee (ARC); and,


WHEREAS the SSD, via the treasurer, has consulted with the SSD community regarding priorities for the budget; therefore,


BIRT the SSD approves the 2023/24 Budget as presented today by our Treasurer, Hannah Brown.

WHEREAS the SSD strives to promote food security for our community, and thus the SSD have been providing food security programming in past semesters; therefore,

BIRT the SSD approve the Summer 2023 Food Security Program Policy; and,

BIFRT the SSD approves a budget of up to $15,000 for the Food Security Program for the Summer 2023 semester.
