Email Motion – 2023/03/03: 01

WHEREAS the SSD strives to support disabled students on campus by providing respite and access to light refreshments and easy meals; and,

WHEREAS the SSD purchases a variety of snacks, and easy meals for on campus consumption and takeaway for at home for students’ open access; therefore,

BIRT the SSD approves $500 more for the Winter/Spring 2023 semester for the purchase and delivery of more space snacks and simple convenient meals.

WHEREAS the SSD strives to support disabled students on campus by collaborating with similar organizations; and,

 

WHEREAS the SSD wishes to encourage all UVic students to attend post-secondary disability events on campus; therefore,

 

BIRT the SSD approves up to $1500 for costs associated with the Post-Secondary Disability Symposium featuring the National Educational Association of Disabled Students (NEADS) State of the Schools Tour on March 31st.

WHEREAS the SSD supports efforts to increase masking rates on campus; therefore,

 

BIRT the SSD signs on to this letter from MaskUpUVic asking that UVic supply masks for its community.

WHEREAS the SSD endeavours to provide members of our community with opportunities to build community and connect with other students; therefore,

BIRT the SSD approves up to $500 for an end-of-semester board game cafe event, including covering the cost of admission and up to $20 of food/non-alcoholic beverages per person.
