SSD Staff Members 2025

Introducing the incredible individuals behind the scenes at the Society of Students with a Disability! They are the backbone of our organization, tirelessly working to support our community and bring the SSD’s mission to life. Get to know them better through their bios below!

Kai Punt (they/she)

Education and Administrative Coordinator

During my studies at UVic, the SSD was a valuable resource and community to me as an Autistic student. After graduating with my BSc in Psychology (minor in Art Education) last spring, I was excited to be back on campus to provide students with the resources and community the SSD once gave to me! Outside of my work at the SSD, I am a TA for the Psychology department and work as a Research Coordinator at the Child Neuropsychology Lab. I am currently working on research on social camouflaging (AKA: masking) in Autistic youth, and I intend to pursue graduate studies in clinical psychology. My inbox is always open if you wish to chat about academic support, accessing resources, and our educational programming!

In my free time, I enjoy making art, playing softball, weight lifting, Pokémon, and probably other things that I have forgotten about!

Bella Jacobs (she/her)

Office Coordinator

As a returning team member who has now been in this position for a year, I am so glad I came back as this community always fills my cup! I previously served as the Communications and Research Coordinator from 2022-2024. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Art History with a Minor in Film Studies and I am completing my Master’s Degree in Art History this year. I am an invisibly disabled student and am deeply passionate about disability after finding a sense of community within the SSD during my undergraduate years. I have several years of advocacy and non-profit work at UVic and in the community. I am excited about the SSD’s continued growth these last few years and can’t wait to continue the momentum.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my kitties, playing video games, and building miniature models.
