Volunteer Positions


For these positions the bullet points are not mandatory as part of the role but are suggestions of what could be done in this position. All volunteer position weekly hours are determined by the volunteers availability but we suggest 1-3 hours per week.

SSD Ambassador 

  • Occupy the space to extend hours past staff capacity  
  • Committing to one day a week if possible
  • Times TBD by volunteer’s capacity

Office Extraordinaire

  • Assists with office duties, including administrative duties as directed by Coordinators
    • Examples include filing organization support, space organization and maintaining space cleanliness
  • Times TBD by volunteer’s capacity

Media Coordinator

  • Support the Communication and Research Coordinator with the SSD social media
  • Create graphics and help with content creation for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and the website
  • Help with research for educational posts
  • Times TBD by volunteer’s capacity

Group Study Buddy

  • Host hybrid study sessions aka body doubling 
    • Occupy a physical space and work on your tasks
    • Be comfortable opening a recurring Zoom room
  • Times TBD by volunteer’s capacity (goal: 1 or 2 times a month, extra in exam season)

Peer Support Group Facilitator

  • Facilitate a Peer Support group, with support from council and staff
  • Times TBD by volunteer’s capacity and attendees schedule (2 times a month)

Games Night Host

  • Host virtual games night through ZOOM
    • Host online groups games using our Jackbox account or free online games approved by staff or Council
    • Be comfortable opening a recurring Zoom room
    • Time TBD by volunteer’s capacity (goal: 1 or 2 times a month)

Events Facilitator

  • Set up, attend, and take down materials for tabling events
  • Attend field trips to be present for folks who need additional assistance as directed by Coordinators
